Yes, you might have worn all the safety gear but did you really look to see if everything else around you was safely placed?
Mark Twain once said, “It is better to be careful 100 times than to be killed once.” In every workplace there is bound to be an accident and the ultimate fault goes to the person involved in that incident. Majority of workers seem to like to find “things” to put the blame on when workplace accidents occur instead of finding the root cause.
Many workplace accidents happen on anybody’s watch and are mainly caused by Lack of Preparation, Shortcuts and Mental Distractions, just to mention a few.
You can however curb these accidents and live safely if You follow safety procedures, inspect the premises from time to time, increase safety awareness in a workplace as this will lead to an injury-free staff. Like as said before, you may have on all the safety gear but as long as you have not inspected the site you are working on it is pointless.
